How Clients Review Quotes

Clients open the secure link in the quote email. They do not need a Timesheets.com account.

The review page displays the quote, terms and conditions, payment schedule when applicable, and three possible actions: Accept, Reject, and Request Revision.

Accept

If the terms are collapsed, the client may need to expand or scroll through them before Accept becomes available.

  • If confirmation was not required when the quote was sent, selecting Accept finalizes the quote immediately.
  • If confirmation was required, selecting Accept sends a confirmation email. The quote remains Pending Confirmation until the client uses that email’s confirmation link.

After acceptance is finalized, the quote moves to the Accepted tab.

Reject

Selecting Reject finalizes the decision immediately. A comment is optional. The quote moves to the Rejected tab.

Request Revision

The client must enter a comment of at least five words. The request is finalized immediately, and the quote moves to the Open tab with a Revision badge.

To respond to the request, edit the quote, select Save as new version, and send the new version to the client.

Each sent link allows one client decision. After the client accepts, rejects, or requests a revision, the action form is no longer available on that link.

When acceptance confirmation is required, the client also cannot switch to Reject or Request Revision after selecting Accept; they must use the confirmation email, or your staff can send the quote again to create a new current review link.

  • An expired quote cannot be actioned.
  • A link replaced by a later send may display a message explaining that it is no longer current.
  • A view-only share link does not display client action controls.
