View the Change Log
The Change Log on the quote form is a read-only, newest-first timeline. Anyone who can open the quote can view it.
The default (simplified) view focuses on:
- Quote creation
- Owner changes
- Sends to the client
- Client decisions
- Actions recorded by staff on behalf of the client
- Client review comments
The Change Log is not an editable notes field. Use Internal Notes for office-only notes.
Choose simplified or full Change Log
To adjust this setting:
- Click the round user icon in the top right, then My Account.
- Select Quotes.
- Choose Simplified change log or Full change log.
- Save your settings.
Full mode adds a Show filter for owner changes, quote activity, status changes, revisions, sales notes, legal terms, client review activity, and review comments. It also includes Refresh Change Log.
Receive notifications when a client acts
The quote owner can receive email and, when available, SMS notifications when a client completes a review:
- Click the round user icon in the top right, then My Account > Notifications.
- Enable Notify me when a quote action is performed by the client.
- Choose the available email or SMS delivery options and save.
These notifications are sent for decisions completed by the client. They are not sent when an employee records a decision on behalf of the client.
Act on behalf of a client
Employees with the required Extended Security permission can record a client’s decision after receiving it by phone, email, or another offline method.
The Accept, Reject, and Request Revision controls appear in Actions on Behalf of the Client only when:
- The employee has on-behalf permission.
- The current version is pending review.
- The quote and version are not archived or already finalized.
- The employee is viewing the latest version.
To record the decision:
- Open the pending quote.
- Select Accept, Reject, or Request Revision.
- Review the Act on Behalf of the Client confirmation. Revision comments are optional for staff.
- Confirm the action.
The decision is finalized immediately. The client receives a courtesy email with a link to view the quote, but no further confirmation is required. The Change Log records the employee who acted and identifies the action as being on behalf of the client.
Important distinction
Permission to act on behalf of a client controls only the Accept, Reject, and Request Revision actions. It is not required to create a new quote version.
